Over 600 foreign observers to monitor Armenian presidential election

Yerevan, 18 February: In the morning of 17 February, the short-term
observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human
Rights (ODIHR) left for the places of their deployment in the whole
territory of Armenia.

The presidential election in Armenia on 19 February will be monitored
by over 600 foreign observers: 316 from the OSCE ODIHR, 53 from the
OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, 40 from the Parliamentary Assembly of
the Council of Europe, six from the European Parliament, 166 from the
CIS, and 39 from the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

Election monitoring will be carried out by 39 NGOs, the total number
of NGO observers makes over 14,000.

Tomorrow, 1,923 polling stations will open in Armenia.
