IMF WILLING TO CONTINUE CLOSE COOPERATION WITH THE ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT

The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Dominique
Strauss-Kahn congratulated RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan for his
election as the President of the Republic of Armenia. The message says,
in part:
"Dear Mr. Sargsyan,
Please accept my warm congratulations on the occasion of your election
as the President of the Republic of Armenia.
The International Monetary Fund has been successfully cooperating with
the Armenian authorities for more than 15 years, giving momentum to the
rapid economic development and promoting poverty reduction. Due to the
programs sponsored by the International Monetary Fund and the technical
assistance provided, long-term structural reforms were implemented
in Armenia, which became the result of considerable economic growth.
Taking as a basis our conversation in Washington in October 2007,
I’m assured that good relations will be maintained during your tenure
in office.
I would like to confirm that we are reedy to continue the close
cooperation with your government in the direction of raising the
economic growth.
Let me wish you new success in your new position."
