/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Minister of Foreign Affairs decided not to
waste time on trifles and addressed a note to the OSCE, Council
of Europe and the European Parliament, which contains nothing else
but lie. As the Press-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Khazar Ibrahim announced, the note concerned "the organizations
of the polling stations and the voting of the Armenia president in
Nagorno Karabakh and other occupied territories of Azerbaijan". It
was mentioned in the note that "this action is one more proof of the
fact that Armenia has occupied a part of Azerbaijan and continues its
illegal activities". The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan
has asked the international organizations to carefully investigate
this illegal activity, to take into account all the events during
making its reports and to take the appropriate measures." At least
Khazar Ibrahim didn’t say that the elections were not fair. We are
not going to make excuses for the fact that Nagorno Karabakh didn’t
elect the president of Armenia.

There are no doubts that very soon the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Azerbaijan will announce that it has a reply from the OSCE, PACE, and
the European Parliament, which takes into consideration the viewpoint
of Azerbaijan. However, seriously speaking, Baku once again tries to
interfere in the domestic affairs of the sovereign country. How long
this will last depends on the Armenian authorities only. The truth
is though, that there is a hope that the European institutions have
already got used to such "statements" and simply ignore them. One
more advice of Baku: Azerbaijan will also be holding presidential
elections very soon, which will be held with such rude violations,
that neither Georgia, nor Armenia could ever think of. So it is better
if our neighboring country keeps its comments to itself and thinks
of its own business.

Deputy Zakhit Orudj, had his word too. He called the Azeri authorities
to turn down the cooperation with the OSCE. The Deputy thinks that the
statements made by the observers of the OSCE mission were previously
made up and reveal the true colors of this organization. "Azerbaijan
shouldn’t invite them to observe the elections," said Zakhid Orudj.

In its response the speaker Oktai Assadov said that Azerbaijan is
an open society and any international organization may observe the
elections in our country.

"The difference between Armenia and Azerbaijan is that their
political parties and national political oppositions are afraid
of the authorities to come up with announcements in front of the
international organizations on their resentments. "In Azerbaijan
there are no such limitations for the opposition in Azerbaijan,"
said Assadov. The most interesting thing is that journalists are
being imprisoned in Azerbaijan, there are political prisoners in the
country and no real opposition at all, and still Assadov speaks of a
"free and democratic" Azerbaijan.

However, this is already his own affair, and Armenia is not going to
dictate its neighbor what to do and how to do.

Meanwhile, the response to "the statement of the Minister of Foreign
Affairs of Azerbaijan" came from where it was supposed to come,
from Nagorno Karabakh.

"On the territory of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh no polls were
established for the presidential elections in Armenia. The Deputy
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Araz Azimov, as well
as the Secretary of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan
Natik Mamedov via mass media confuses the international community
with unfounded announcements saying that within the frame of the
presidential elections in Armenia polls were also established in the
territory of Nagorno Karabakh. The Azeri authorities, being faithful
to their policy of misinformation and political provocations, once
again do their best to slander Armenia and the Republic of Nagorno
Karabakh. This time the occasion was given by the presidential
elections in Armenia, which were assessed by the international
observers as free, fair and democratic," mentions the announcement
made by Nasibyan.

Nasibyan pays attention to the fact that these recurrent provocations
of Azerbaijan were left unnoticed, since the international observers,
during the realization of their mission in Armenia, have visited
almost all the polling stations and were assured that they had been
established exceptionally in the territory of RA.
