SIXTEEN SERVICEMEN WOUNDED, ONE DEAD IN CLASHES IN YEREVAN – ARMENIAN HEALTH MINISTRY

Over the last 24 hours hospitals in Yerevan have admitted 131 people
injured in the mass riots that have engulfed the capital. Eight of
them have died, press secretary for the Armenian Health Ministry
Ruslana Gevorkian told Interfax on Sunday.
"By 9:30 p.m. on Saturday we had received information about 42 injured,
10 of them hospitalized. By 1 a.m. we had learnt about another 89
injured, including 59 troops and interior security officers, as well
as 31 civilians," Gevorkian said.
"Eight of them have died, including a soldier," the spokeswoman said.
"Sixteen of the 72 hospitalized soldiers had gun wounds, as well as
18 of the 59 civilians," she also said.
