COMMANDER: INTERIOR TROOPS ARE READY FOR BATTLES FOR AZERBAIJAN’S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov-APA. Interior Troops mark their 16th
anniversary today.
On this occasion the personnel of Interior Troops visited Heydar
Aliyev’s grave in the Alley of Honor, Martyrs’ Alley and monument
erected in honor of Turkish soldiers, APA reports. Commander of
Interior Troops, lieutenant-general Zakir Hasanov said that the troops
had been equipped with the cutting-edge weapons and special means to
maintain the public order in the country. According to Zakir Hasanov,
496 servicemen of 3000-personnel Interior Troops were killed and 268
went missing in the battles in Karabakh.
"Today the Interior Troops have high-level battle readiness and
discipline and have been equipped with the most modern weapons and
technique. Even NATO representatives say this. Interior Troops are
ready for battles for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity," he said.
March 12 has been marked as the day of establishment of Interior
Troops since 1995.
