ARMS AND AMMUNITION FOUND IN POND OF RESTAURANT COMPLEX OWNED BY SASUN MIKAELIAN

YEREVAN, MARCH 14, NOYAN TAPAN. The following items: 20 grenades
of F-1, RGD-5 and RGL42 types and 15 antitank grenades, 8 antitank
grenade explosives, 11 boxes of cartridges for rifles and machine-guns,
a full charger, 15 explosives for F-1 grenade, 2 signal rockets,
15 syringe needles, 2 ampules of promethazine drug, a large number
of cartridges of various calibres, and a self-made rifle were found
and seized on March 13 in a fish-breeding pond loacted in the area
of "Vanatur" Restaurant Complex (Hrazdan) owned by the RA National
Assembly deputy Sasun Mikaelian.
According to a press release of the press center of the RA National
Security Service (NSS), S. Mikaelian had instructed the restaurant
watchman Edik Khachatrian to hide the stored ammunition.
It is said in the press release that grenades of such type were found
in Opera Square on March 1.
To recap, charges under the RA Criminal Code’s Article 225 Part 3 and
Article 300 Part 1 were brought against S. Mikaelian who was arrested
on March 12.
