/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Armenia’s outgoing President held a
farewell meeting with the government.

Addressing the Cabinet Robert Kocharian said, `I am
here to thank you for the joint work we have carried
out. I thank my lucky stars for having the possibility
to govern the Republic of Armenia in the course 10
years. The results are obvious but we still have much
to do. The new President and his government face a
great number of challenges and problems, solution of
which will be a complicated and responsible process
under the world economy crisis.

The number one task for Armenia is security. The South
Caucasus is still a region of conflicts. In this
respect, our diplomatic efforts should be flexible and
adequate.

There are ill-wishing forces in Armenia. But there are
also politicians who serve to make our republic stable
and prosperous.’

He wished the President-elect and the new government
every success.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
