WARSAW, APRIL 9, ARMENIANS TODAY – NOYAN TAPAN. In 2006 the Polish
Oborniki Shleonsk publishing-house released musical critic Bozhena
Mushkalskaya’s 400-page Polish collection under the title "Voices of
the Past." The collection contains brief scientific-popular information
on Polish, Ukrainian, and Polish Armenian church music and lyrics and
notes of 188 out of these songs. The collection with the preface of
Polish Armenologist Adrzej Pisovich contains Armenian originals of 4
out of them with Polish translations and Latin-letter spelling marking.
The same publishing-house in 2007 also released the collection "Polish
Armenian Ritual" made by Archbishop Juseph Teodorovich Polish Armenian
Union and Union of People Taking Interest in Polish Armenian Culture,
which contains 204 sacred-ritual Polish-Armenian songs and brief
information about them. Two disks of electronic records of these 204
songs’ performances are also attached to the collection. The Polish
Armenian sacred songs included in the collections have been translated
from Armenian into Polish by Andrzej Pisovich, specialist of Polish
Armenian sacred music Zbignev Kostsuv, and Rafael Hambartsumian.
The above mentioned collections are of unique scientific and cognitive
significance among studies on Polish Armenian sacred-ritual music
