Ter-Petrosian urges his arrested supporters to stop hunger strike

YEREVAN April 11

Former Armenian presidential candidate and opposition leader Levon
Ter-Petrosian urged his supporters in detention to strop their hunger
strike.

"Despite understanding the importance of this extreme measure of
political struggle and praising the feat of the hunger strike
participants, I urge them to stop the strike," Levon Ter-Petrosian
said.

Following information from the opposition sources, some
representatives of the Armenian opposition held in custody started a
hunger strike demanding the charges be dropped. The action
participants say that the charges brought against them are unfounded.
The data on the number of participants of the hunger strike varies
between 10 and 30 people.

The Armenian Justice Ministry says only two opposition activists are
participating in the hunger strike.
