AZERI SOLDIER REPORTEDLY CROSSES OVER TO BREAKAWAY KARABAKH

Yerevan, 14 April: An Azerbaijani serviceman was detained when crossing
over to the Karabakh side near the village of Yusifcanli in Agdam
District on 11 April. The detained man did not have an identification
document on him, the NKR [Nagornyy Karabakh republic] state commission
for POWs and missing people has told Mediamax. He identified himself
as a serviceman of the 190th brigade of the Azerbaijani army, Vusal
Heybatov, born in 1989.
The relevant NKR agencies are investigating the motives and
circumstances of the Azerbaijani serviceman’s crossing over to the
Karabakh side. The NKR state commission for POWs and missing people
has informed the offices of the OSCE and of the International Committee
of the Red Cross in Karabakh of the incident.
