According to some verified sources, Vahe Hovhannissian, member of
the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council
of Europe (PACE) and "Bargavach Hayastan" (Prosperous Armenia) Party
MP, submitted a resignation to the Speaker of the National Assembly
Tigran Torossian.

We tried to verify the information from the BHK parliamentarian. The
latter confirmed his intention on the telephone.

"I simply want to change my job and to start business in a private
sector. As you know a parliamentarian has no right to be engaged
in business. I made the decision long ago and wouldn’t like my
resignation to get different interpretations. I informed the BHK
leader of my intention a month ago. I have had no problems with Gagik
Tsarukian. We have worked together for a year, and our relations were
mainly based on mutual respect," said Vahe Hovhannissian.

The deputy’s resignation will be considered at the NA sitting on
Monday.
