SITTING OF IAC COORDINATION AND ADVISORY AIR MEDICAL COUNCIL STARTS IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, JUNE 9, NOYAN TAPAN. A regular sitting of the Interstate
Aviation Committee’s (IAC) Coordination and Advisory Air Medical
Council (CAMC) started in Yerevan on June 9 on the initiative of
Aviamed center of the RA Civil Aviation Main Department. The head
of the Civil Aviation Main Department Artyom Movsisian said at the
sitting’s opening ceremony that considerable progress has been
registered in Armenian civil aviation in recent years, which is
also evident from the opinions of international aviation bodies. He
underlined that one of the most important guarantees of flight safety
is medical examination.

According to director of Aviamed center Lilit Ghazarian, the main goal
of the sitting held in Yerevan for the first time is to organize an
exchange of experience of various countries, while the main subject
is cardiovascular diseases. At the same time she said that no unusual
disease-related cases happen in aviation because the staff underdoes
regular medical examination.

160 pilots, 130 air stewardesses and other specialists of the sector
undergo medical examination at Aviamed every year.

Representatives of Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrghyzstan,
Tajikistan and Russia participate in the sitting which will last
until June 13.
