FUND FOR ARMENIAN RELIEF IMPLEMENTS PROJECT ON RESTORATION OF WATER SYSTEM IN ARTASHAT AND 27 ADJACENT VILLAGES WITH USAID FINANCING

With the financing of the USAID, the Fund for Armenian Relief of
America (FAR) is implementing a project on restoration of the water
system in the city of Artashat and 27 villages adjacent to it. NT
correspondent was informed by spokesman for the FAR Levon Lachikian
that the purpose of the project is to improve the water supply in
this region.
Accoridng to him, within the framework of the project, it is envisaged
to restore the water pipeline’s accident-prone sections of about 30
km, built a new 6-km Qaghtsrashen-Artashat water pipeline, repair
two reservoirs and to built a new one with a capacity of 4,000 cubic
meters. The work started on June 20.
