The home political situation in Armenia is stable, as rather much
time has passed since the electoral processes.
Heghine Bisharian, the Head of the Orinats Yerkir (Country of Law)
National Assembly faction, expressed such an opinion at the July 2
press conference.
According to her, the new PACE resolution and the statement made by
President Serzh Sargsyan lately in Moscow are currently subjects of
primary discussion in the political sphere.
According to H. Bisharian, PACE to some extent evaluated satisfactory
the fulfilment of Resolution N 1609, as some provisions have been
indeed fulfilled. And new Resolution N 1620 has been adopted for
improving the shortcomings. And as regards S. Sargsyan’s statement,
H. Bisharian considers it positive.
The OYP faction head said that they have repeatedly touched upon
normalization of relations with the neighboring countries. Though many
Armenians work, have a rest in Turkey, Armenia has no diplomatic
relations with Turkey and there are many problems with that
country. And President’s such approach, as H. Bisharian evaluated, is
a positive start and cornerstone for normalization of Armenian-Turkish
diplomatic relations.
Touching upon S. Sargsyan’s statement regarding creation of an
Armenian-Turkish commission of historians to study the facts of the
Genocide, H. Bisharian said that no Armenian can make the issue of
Genocide a subject for discussion or endanger it.
