Armenia’s authorities are ready to discuss all issues concerning
the Karabakh settlement with Azerbaijani party, Eduard Sharmazanov,
a deputy, the Spokesperson of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia
(RPA), stated in the course of a press conference.
"Our approaches in the Karabakh issue have not been changed since
nineties – we do not picture Nagorno-Karabakh’s status within
independent Azerbaijan. We believe that Armenia and NKR should have a
common border and security of NKR borders and people be guaranteed. In
other respects Armenia’s leadership is ready to negotiate", Sharmazanov
told journalists on Tuesday.
He expressed concern over PACE resolution on Azerbaijan, where the
issue of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity had been broached.
"It testifies to the European structures’ double standards, since
if there is a principle of territorial integrity there is also a
principle of people’s right to self-determination", Sharmazanov said.
He reminded that NKR people had exercised their right to
self-determination in line with norms of international law and Soviet
Union’s Constitution, Novosti-Armenia Agency reports.
