OMBUDSMAN ASKS TO BE PUT UNDER PROTECTION

Ombudsman Armen Haroutiunian sent an official letter to the Head of
the National Security Service of Armenia Gorik Hakobian, Office of
the Ombudsman reported. In his letter the Ombudsman asks for providing
protection for him and his family.
"Under Article 21 of the RA Law on "Ombudsman", the latter and his
family are under state protection. And the authoritative government
bodies should take required measures to provide security of the
Ombudsman and his family. I request individual protection for me and
my family – five employees of the relevant bodies and two automobiles",
the letter says.
