The Armenian president has said that he wants to see a quick solution
to domestic problems.

Serzh Sargsyan was addressing Armenian citizens on 18 July on the
occasion of his first 100 days in office. The address was carried by
Armenian Public TV.

Sargsyan said that he had already started implementing his election
manifestos which aimed to solve domestic problems. He noted that
Armenians did not have to wait long for them to be implemented. "I
also want to see positive results of the fight against injustice,
indifference, corruption and poverty as soon as possible," Sargsyan
said.

He said that the main goal of his work during the past 100 days was
to respond to the expectations, hopes and demands of the hundreds
of thousands of his compatriots and to create a basis for the
continuation of reforms which are important for the development of
the Armenian state.

At the end of his address, Sargsyan pledged to do his best to develop
the economy and create a strong country.

Sargsyan was elected Armenia’s president in the 19 February 2008

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
