Turkey intends to involve Armenia in Caucasian Alliance through
Russia’s mediation

ArmInfo. Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan is going to continue his
talks with Russian FM Sergey Lavrov over Turkish Prime Minister Recep
Erdogan’s initiative to create a platform of stability and cooperation
in the Caucasus.

Referring to Aksam, Trend reports that Babacan and Lavrov will decide
when they will continue their talks. Turkey hopes for Russia’s active
mediation under this project. Particularly, Lavrov is supposed to
convey the proposal to the Government of Armenia. If the Armenian
authorities accept the initiative, Turkey will send its FM official,
Ambassador Unal Cevikoz to Yerevan.

The talks with Armenia are scheduled for Sept. During the next UN
General Assembly session Babacan is planning to discuss the initiative
with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandyan.
