ARMENIAN PRESIDENT RECEIVES SPECIAL DELEGATE OF TURKEY

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS: Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan
received today special delegate of the Turkish President Abdullah Gul,
Ambassador Unal Chevikyoz.
Presidential press service told Armenpress that during the meeting
the sides referred to the visit of the Turkish President Abdullah
Gul to Yerevan at the invitation of the Armenian president to watch
Armenia-Turkey football game scheduled for September 6.
Serzh Sargsyan positively assessed the visit of the special delegate
to Armenia, and said that it creates an opportunity to speak about
regulation of bilateral relations, exchange thoughts over regional
developments and issues. The president said that events taking place
in Caucasus demand great responsibility and create serious issues
and commitments.
The interlocutors discussed Turkey’s initiative on creation of Union of
Caucasian Stability and Security. Noting that Turkish prime minister
has initiated a very difficult but important step, S. Sargsyan said
that he is for the discussion of any issue.
"Armenia always greeted and greets all the efforts directed towards
consolidating atmosphere of trust in the region, establishment of
stability, cooperation and security," S. Sargsyan said presenting
his views over the establishment of the union.
