Russia, Moscow, 4 September/ TrendNews, corr R. Agayeva/ Armenia is
a proponent of a peaceful resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,
Edward Nalbandyan, Armenian foreign minister said in a briefing in
Moscow. The briefing was held after the meeting of the Collective
Treaty Security Organization (CSTO).

" Armenia is a proponent of peaceful resolution of the conflict,
non-use of force, and respect for rights of nations to express their
will," Minister said.

He said conflicts must be solved on the base of legal documents and
all principles reflected in them must be respected.

"If we take into consideration OSCE Helsinki act, it includes three key
terms – non-use of force and not threatening with force, territorial
integrity of the states and right to determining destiny. One of these
three principles must not be used for one’s own interest and to put
coercive resolution against free expression of will," minister said.

CSTO is a military and political union set up by former soviet
republics on the basis of the collective security treaty signed on
15 May 1992. It includes Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan,
Armenia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
