Armenia to chair council of CSTO countries coordinating emergency

ARMENIA TO CHAIR COUNCIL OF CSTO COUNTRIES COORDINATING EMERGENCY MINISTRIES

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS: The second session of the
council coordinating the CSTO emergency situations ministries which
will take place in Bishkek September 10-12, will be chaired by
Armenia. The country will assume the chairmanship of the council for
six months. Armenia will participate in the session with a delegation
headed by Emergency Minister Mher Shahgeldian.
Head of a department of the Emergency Situation Ministry Sergey
Azarian told Armenpress that at the session the participants will
discuss issues on the development of cooperation of the CSTO counties
in the sphere of emergency situations as well as a working plan
developed beforehand. The plane consists of three main directions
which must be brought to life in three rounds from 2008 to 2012.
The working plan includes issues on consolidation of partnership,
preparation of staff of the sphere, provision of technical means and
assistance during disasters.
