/PanARMENIAN.Net/ On September 7, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward
Nalbandian met with Turkish journalists who arrived in Yerevan to cover
the World Cup qualifier between Armenian and Turkish national teams.

Minister Nalbandian described Gul’s visit as a stimulus for
normalization of bilateral relations, saying that it will promote
establishment of peace, trust and stability in the region. "I have
had an impression that the Turkish authorities are also willing to
normalize relations," he said.

Commenting on the international feedback about the visit, the Minister
said the meeting between the Armenian and Turkish President attracted
attention of international media and the term ‘football diplomacy’
was included in the diplomatic vocabulary.

Minister Nalbandian praised the proper coverage of the visit by the
journalists, who, for their part, assured that they will continue
efforts for reconciliation.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
