Beginning from 2009 Armenia will start selling electricity to
Turkey. As the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan
announced yesterday the two Presidents discussed this issue during
the visit of the Turkish President to Yerevan.
The agreement is about a direct export via Kars. The launch of the
exporting process depends on Turkey. By the preliminary agreement
the starting volume of the export will make up 1.5 billion kilowatt
an hour, which will be increased up to 3.5 billion kilowatt an hour.
