BELARUS VIEWING FRIENDSHIP OF PEOPLES AS IMPORTANT PREREQUISITE TO MAINTAIN STABILITY

The friendship of peoples is the national wealth of Belarus and
an important prerequisite to maintain stability in the society,
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Belarus
Oleg Yesayan told a press conference in Minsk on September 19.
The diplomat noted that the Armenian community, one of the biggest in
Belarus, peacefully lives and works in the country. "Armenians smoothly
integrated in the Belarusian society, at the same time, they have good
conditions for preserving their national identity," Oleg Yesayan said.
The Ambassador noted that the representatives of the Armenian community
are interested in the construction of an Armenian church in Minsk. The
money for this purpose has already been raised. At present, about
100 students attend the Armenian Sunday School.
Oleg Yesayan added that more than two thirds of Armenians live
outside Armenia. A special state committee on Armenian communities
abroad headquartered in Yerevan will be transformed into a ministry
on October 1.
