TRIBUTE TO THE MEMORY OF VICTIMS OF OCTOBER 27

The President of the National Assembly of Armenia, the Vice-Presidents,
Deputies and representatives of the NA staff laid flowers at the
memorial to the victims of the terrorist act of October 27, 1999.
"Every year paying tribute to the victims at this memorial we say
our decisive "no" to terrorism and hostility," NA Speaker Hovik
Abrahamyan said. According to him, although nine years have passed
after the crime, "any of us will carry this pain the whole nation
felt on October 27, 1999 throughout his life."
The Speaker noted that crimes have no time limitation and the utmost
should be done to avoid their reoccurrence in the future. "Therefore,
every time gathering at this memorial, we should state once again
that out strength is in our unity and united we can build a more
prosperous Armenia, which, I’m sure, was the dream of the political
figures killed on October 27.
As President of the National Assembly, I assure that I will do
everything that depends on for tolerance and mutual respect finally
triumph in our country, since it is the way of building a deserving
and fair country. The best tribute to our killed colleagues will be
the realization of their ideas, and I’m sure we will work together
to build the Armenia they dreamt of," the Parliament Speaker noted.
