TWO REPAIRED ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVES ARRIVE IN ARMENIA FROM GEORGIA

YEREVAN, October 28. /ARKA/. Two electric locomotives VL-10 repaired
in Georgia arrived in Armenia.
The press service of the South-Caucasus Railway CJSC reports that
completely overhauled locomotives are provided with state-of-the-art
equipment.
The locomotives are currently at the Gyumri depot and will soon start
serving Airun-Gyumri and Airum-Sadakhno routes.
The first locomotive repaired in Georgia arrived in Armenia on
September 23, 2008. This November, the fourth completely overhauled
locomotive is to arrive in the country. The South-Caucasus Railway
signed a contract for the major overhaul of 23 electric locomotives
and 1,000 freight cars with Georgian specialists.
The South-Caucasus Railway Company, fully owned by the Russian Railways
Company, is manager of the Armenian Railways Company.
On June 1, 2008, the South-Caucasus Railway Company listed the rolling
stock of the Armenian Railways Company in its fixed assets under a
30-year concession contract signed on February 13, 2008.
