(Interfax) – U.S. Republicans and Democrats have no major differences
in their policy with respect to Armenia, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia
Mari Jovanovic told journalists on Wednesday, when asked how U.S.-
Armenian relations will change after Barack Obama becomes the
president of the United States.

Both parties support economic reforms in Armenia and call for the
regulation of Armenia-Turkish relations and for the peaceful
resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in the framework of the
OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) Minsk
Group, the ambassador said.

Commenting on the Karabakh declaration signed in Moscow by the
Russian, Armenian and Azeri presidents, Jovanovic said that the
U.S. and other Minsk Group co-chairmen call for continuing the peace
process under the OSCE Minsk Group and are all ready to facilitate the
peaceful resolution of the conflict.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
