ArmInfo. Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin is still withholding comments
on intention of head of the Caucasian Muslim Department to invite
Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II to Baku. As the Azerbaijani
"Mirror" reports, head of the Caucasian Muslim Department (CMD)
Sheik Allahshukur Pashazade said at yesterday’s press-conference
that ‘it is planned to hold a summit of religious leaders in Baku
at the end of September and the beginning of October next year in
Baku and that all religious leaders, including the Catholicos of All
Armenians Garegin II, Patriarch of All Russia and the Pope would be
invited. The press service of Echmiadzin’s administrative office told
ArmInfo today that the issue of participation of the Supreme Patriarch
in the conference was not discussed. ‘The issue of participation of
Garegin II in the forthcoming summit in Baku will be discussed upon
receipt of an official invitation’, press service reported.
