402,223 TOURISTS ARRIVED IN ARMENIA IN NINE MONTHS OF THIS YEAR

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS: During the nine months of this year
402,223 tourists arrived in Armenia against 370,731 of the same span
of the past year.
National Statistical Service told Armenpress that in the same period
of time 392,775 people left Armenia for tourism purposes.
In the mentioned period of time 46 hotels of the republic received
56,654 tourists 28 percent more as compared with the same span of
the past year. About 345,569 tourists stayed at relatives’ houses or
rented apartments.
According to reports of the hotels, 25.1 percent of tourists were
from CIS countries, the rest from European and other countries. The
number of tourists who arrived from Russia reached 17.6 percent, from
EU countries 38.5 %, from USA 17.3%, from Iran 6%, from Turkey 1.3%
and from Canada 1.5 %.
About 8,931 people left Armenia through tourism organizations (7.6
percent more as compared with the past year); 383,844 people left
the country on their own.
