His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia passed away
in the morning of December 5, reports the press service of the Moscow
Patriarchy.
Alexy II (Alexy Mikhailovich Ridiger) was 80 years old. He was born on
February 23, 1929, in the city of Tallin. Alexy II was the patriarch
of the Russian Orthodox Church from June 7, 1990.
