Russia’s Defense Ministry will clarify its official position on
the sale of ammunition worth $800 million to Armenia by Jan. 20,
the ministry’s press service told Trend News.
Several media reports claim that Russia sold ammunition worth $800
million to Armenian armed forces from Russian Military Base 102
in Gumru.
On Jan. 13, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasiliy Istratov was
invited to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. Deputy Foreign Minister
Araz Azimov officially asked the ambassador about the reports. Istratov
said Russia will clarify the issue in the near future.
"We are not confirming or refuting the sale as we are working on the
issue at the moment," the press service added.
