COOPERATION BETWEEN NA AND COUNCIL OF EUROPE IN 2009 DISCUSSED

YEREVAN, JANUARY 14, ARMENPRESS: Armenian National Assembly Speaker
Hovik Abrahamyan received today special representative of the Council
of Europe secretary general Silvia Zehe.

Public relations department of the National Assembly told Armenpress
that during the meeting the sides discussed issues on cooperation
between the National Assembly and the Council of Europe in 2009.

Hovik Abrahamyan noted that there many programs and activity to
be carried out this year. He referred to the coming visit of the
co-rapporteurs of the Council of Europe Monitoring Commission to
Armenia noting the steps carried out towards the implementation of
PACE 1609 and 1620 resolutions.

During the meeting the sides also discussed other issues.
