ArmInfo. Government of Armenia will start developing economic strategy
for sectors, Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan said at the
Government Thursday. He said in all sectors import substitution will
be in the focus of attention. He mentioned that last year the Economy
Ministry was charged to develop a strategy of local industry including
for specific sectors. ‘For this purpose, we will start discussions on
every sector starting next weak with involvement of representatives of
the key enterprises of particular sectors. We will discuss issues of
chemical, light, food and other industries. Naturally, the public will
be informed of the state policy in these sectors and the factors we
believe favorable for attracting private investors. The main burden
will be laid on the ministries of agriculture, energy and natural
resources, and economy’, the prime minister said.

He mentioned that the Government has faced a big problem i.e. Armenia
lacks highly qualified project- managers. As a result, all the ideas
on development of economy remain unrealized. ‘Dealing with private
sectors we should pay attention first of all to the liquidation of
the given problem. I urge all the ministers to pay special attention
to this and promote the activity of the governmental operative’,
Tigran Sargsyan said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
