The first advertising panel appeared in Alaverdi City in
October 2006. The ad was placed at the city entrance by ArmenTel
Telecommunications Company. Shortly afterwards, the advertisement
hoardings of "Vallex Group" CJSC with the photos of veterans,
labourers, children and landscapes were seen in the city. The
innovation was warmly welcomed by local inhabitants. Today the ads
of Unibank and VivaCell have added.
Totally, five advertisers are registered in Alaverdi’s City Hall. They
enrich the regional budget by 230 000 drams a month. In 2009 the
budget is calculated to have an income of 16 500 000 drams, 13 500
000 of which will be paid by ACP Company. The latter has rented 765-
square-meter area for its ads. VivaCell monthly pays 108 000 drams
for its two huge advertising panels.
The Head of the City Hall’s Tax Department, Vahe Paranyan says the
most advertisers were registered during the 2007 Presidential election
when the candidates and parties placed their posters in the city for
a month.
