Representative of the Armenian National Congress Levon Zurabyan today
presented his assessment of PACE Resolution 1643 and the discussions
on Armenia at the Parliamentary Assembly.

According to Levon Zurabyan, the adopted document could serve a good
basis for working in the direction of releasing the political prisoners
and is harsher that the previous two. On the other hand, the opposition
representative noted that the resolution adopted in January was a
regress as compared to the draft adopted by the Monitoring Committee.

Levon Zurabyan noted that unlike the Council of Europe, the opposition
does not believe in the promises of the authorities and added that
from now on the Council of Europe is also responsible for releasing
the prisoners.
