President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received the OSCE
Parliamentary Assembly President’s Special Representative for Nagorno
Karabakh Goran Lenmarker, President’s Press Office reported.

Issues related to the process of settlement of the Karabakh issue,
the Armenian-Turkish political dialogue, the geopolitical developments
in the South Caucasus and EU’s Eastern Partnership initiative were
discussed at the meeting.

President Sargsyan attached importance to the invaluable role of the
OSCE in the maintenance of peace over the past 15 years and emphasized
the importance of the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group targeted at the
resolution of the issue. The President also stressed the importance
of cooperation with the OSCE for deepening the democratic processes
in the country.

The interlocutors underlined that the August events in the region
once again confirm the impermissibility of the military solution of
conflicts existing in the region, saying that such intentions are
"dangerous and unpromising." The President stressed once again that
our country expects that international structures will react to
the unprecedented raise of the military potential and the periodic
militant statements of some countries in the region.

Goran Lenmarker assessed as positive the process of settlement of the
Kara bakh issue and welcomed the discussion of the issue with leaders
of political parties initiated by the Armenian President. The OSCE
representative welcomed the efforts the Armenian side has made in
the direction of normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations.

The interlocutors stated that dialogue and cooperation are the best
ways for ensuring cooperation and peace in the region.

During the meeting reference was made to the Eastern Partnership
initiative.

Serzh Sargsyan attached importance to Armenia’s involvement in the
project and emphasized its component of regional cooperation.
