YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 11, NOYAN TAPAN. Candle lighting will be held
on February 28 in the territory near Yerevan Mayor’s Office on
the initiative of the People’s Party in memory of the March 1
victims. Party Chairman Tigran Karapetian reported at the February
11 press conference adding that he has already applied to the Mayor’s
Office to get a permission to hold the event.

Meanwhile he said that even if they are refused, all the same the
candle lighting will be held. From 3 to 4 thousand candles will be
lit on that day.

In Tigran Karapetian’s opinion, the strained situation formed in
Armenia should be solved only through amnesty. According to him, a
dialogue between the opposition and authorities is not a solution to
the problem. As T. Karapetian assessed it, the opposition should be
represented in the parliament and take part in solution of problems
faced by the country.

Touching upon the problem of Javakhk Armenians, T. Karapetian said
that the Armenian authorities should send an official note to Georgia
on the occasion of the latest events in Javakhk. While, according to
the PP Chairman, one forms an impression that the RA Foreign Minister
is only engaged in the Artsakh problem. And in general, according
to T. Karapetian, if Georgia continues like this, it will also lose
Javakhk as it lost Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

T. Karapetian also said that they are going to run for the forthcoming
parliamentary elections and will win.
