ISRAEL’S AMBASSADOR PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA

The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of Israel to Armenia Shemi Tzur presented his credentials to the
President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan. Expressing appreciation for the
level of the political dialogue between the two countries, President
Sargsyan congratulated the Ambassador on the occasion of the recent
parliamentary elections in Israel and expressed confidence that the
Armenian-Israeli relations, which have rich traditions, will continue
developing in the same spirit.

The President attached importance to the further deepening of
cooperation on different levels and in different spheres, emphasizing
the existence of all necessary conditions for it.

Shemi Tzur noted it’s a great honor for him to be Israel’s Ambassador
to Armenia and assured he would do his best for the further expansion
of cooperation between the two countries and development of ties with
the friendly Armenian people.

During the meeting the interlocutors exchanged views on the situation
in the Middle East, the negotiations on the settlement of the
Karabakh conflict and the Armenian-Turkish dialogue. Ambassador Tzur
welcomed the ongoing Armenian-Turkish dialogue and said he hopes for
normalization of relations.

Stressing the impermissibility of resolution of conflicts by force,
the interlocutors underlined that the settlement of exist ing issues
through negotiations has no alternative, while peace and stability
are the values that can do good to all peoples.
