Ankara – APA. Israel’s Chief of General Staff Gabi Ashkenazi phoned his
Turkish counterpart Ilker Basbug in connection with the remarks made
by the country’s Ground Forces Commander Avi Mizrahi and later sent an
official letter to him, spokesman for Turkish General Staff Metin Gurak
told journalists at the weekly briefing, APA reports quoting Haberturk.

According to him, Israeli general said they attached great importance
to the relations with Turkish army, Mizrahi’s remarks were not the
position of Israeli army and necessary measures would be taken in
connection with this. Gabi Ashkenazi also sent an official letter to
Ilker Basbug confirming his words in written form.

Commenting on Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s severe
statement in Davos, Ground Forces Commander Avi Mizrahi said Erdogan
should first look in the mirror and accused Turkey of committing
massacre of Armenians and suppression of the Kurds.

Turkish General Staff protested against it and demanded clarification
from Israeli Army.
