Speaking about the steps the governments take to mitigate the impact
of the global financial-economic crisis on out country, economist
Tatul Manaseryan expressed the opinion that those are very important
but not sufficient.

According to the economist, parallel to those steps it is necessary
to work out and apply national programs deriving from the economic
peculiarities of our country.

Turning to the remark of the Head of the World Bank Armenia office that
this year Armenia will have a zero growth of GDP, Tatul Manaseryan
said the danger exists but steps should be taken to avoid regress
or fall. At the same time, the economist noted that our country has
chances to register positive GDP growth.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
