ALROSA MAKES PROPOSAL TO PROVIDE LARGE CREDIT LINE TO ARMENIA

YEREVAN, MARCH 4, NOYAN TAPAN. During the March 4 meeting of Armenian
prime minister Tigran Sargsyan and chairman of Alrosa diamond mining
company (Russia) Sergei Vybornov, issues of further cooperation with
Alrosa under conditions of the current global financial and economic
crisis, the opportunities and prospects of assistance to Armenian
companies engaged in diamond cutting sector were discussed.
The chairman of Alrosa made a proposal to provide a large credit line
to Armenia, which will allow obtaining rough diamonds from Alrosa
and supplying Armenian diamond cutting enterprises with the necessary
raw material in the next few years.
According to the press service of the Armenian government, the sides
agreed to hold more discussions on the conditions of this mutually
beneficial credit and the risks of both the lender and the borrower,
taking into account the possible manifestations and impact of the
global crisis in the future.
