PRELATE TO PRESIDE OVER DIVINE LITURGY AT
THE CRESCENTA VALLEY CHURCH
Sunday, March 8th, is the third Sunday of Great Lent, which is also
known as Sunday of the Prodigal Son.
H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, will preside over
Divine Liturgy at the Armenian Apostolic Church of Crescenta Valley. The
Prelate will also deliver the sermon.
ACYA "SPIRITUAL AWAKENING" RETREAT
Under the auspices of the Prelate, the Central Board of the Armenian
Church Youth Association has organized the first annual "Spiritual
Awakening" retreat, which will take place on Friday, March 13th, to Sunday,
March 15th at AYF Camp.
The retreat will be led by Christian Education Co-Director Very Rev.
Fr. Barthev Gulumian and will include prayer services, worship, and
enlightening and educational lectures.
A.R.S. JAVAKHK FUND COMMITTEE
4TH ANNUAL GALA DINNER
On Sunday, March 8th, the 4th annual A.R.S. Javakhk Fund Committee
gala dinner will take place aboard the "Crystal" Yacht in Newport Beach.
Pastor of Forty Martyrs Church Rev. Fr. Hrant Yeretzian will
represent the Prelate and convey his blessings and well wishes.
A.G. MINASSIAN SCHOOL ANNUAL BANQUET
On the evening of Saturday, March 7th, the annual banquet of A.G.
Minassian School in Orange County will take place under the auspices of the
Prelate at "Gugasian" Hall.
Rev. Fr. Hrant Yeretzian will represent the Prelate and convey his
blessings. Executive Council Chair Dr. Garo Agopian will also attend.
PRELATE TO ATTEND HAMAZKAYIN ANI DANCE COMPANY
35TH ANNIVERSARY BANQUET
On the evening of Saturday, March 7th, the 35th anniversary banquet
of the Hamazkayin Ani Dance Company will take place at "Deukmejian" Hall of
Ararat Home in Mission Hills.
The evening will feature a performance by the Ani Dance Group led by
directors Mrs. Suzy Barseghian-Tarpinian and Mr. Yeghia Hasholian.
The Prelate will attend and convey his blessings. He will be
accompanied by Pastor of St. Garabed Church Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian
and Executive Council member Mr. Khatchig Yeretzian.
MERDINIAN SCHOOL ANNUAL BANQUET
On the evening of Saturday, March 7th, the 27th annual banquet of
Charlotte and Elise Merdinian Evangelican School will take place at
"Avazian" Hall of the United Armenian Congregational Church.
Pastor of St. Mary’s Church Rev. Fr. Ardag Demirjian will represent
the Prelate and convey his blessings and remarks.
PRELATE PARTICIPATED IN
WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
On the morning of Sunday, March 6th, the Prelate participated in the
annual Women’s World Day of Prayer at St. Mary’s Church.
Rector of the Armenian Catholic Church Very Rev. Fr. Andon Saroyan
and Minister of the Armenian Evangelical Union of North American Rev. Joe
Matossian also participated.
The opening prayer was offered by parish pastor Rev. Fr. Vazken
Atmajian. Welcoming remarks were delivered by parish Ladies Auxiliary Chair
Mrs. Mary Tchaghatsbanian.
The program consisted of prayer, spiritual songs, and scripture
readings.
Very Rev. Fr. Andon Saroyan and Rev. Joe Matossian also offered
their remarks and messages.
The event concluded with the benediction by the Prelate.
PRELATE PRESIDES OVER ANNUAL LENTEN LUNCHEON
On the morning of Wednesday, March 4th, the Prelate presided over
Sunrise Service at St. Mary’s Church. The sermon was delivered by Very Rev.
Fr.Barthev Gulumian.
Following services, the Prelate presided over the annual Prelacy
Ladies Auxiliary Lenten luncheon at "Armenag Der Bedrossian" Hall, in which
over 200 guests participated.
Welcoming remarks were offered by Ladies Auxiliary member Mrs.
Hourig Abdulian, who later also delivered the message of the day.
The Prelate offered the invocation and in his remarks commended the
Ladies Auxiliary for their service.
An artistic program also took place.
PRELATE WELCOMES HOMENETMEN
CENTRAL SCOUTING COUNCIL
On the evening of Tuesday, March 3rd, the Prelate welcomed to the
Prelate members of the Homenetmen Central Scouting Council. Pastor of St.
Mary’s Church Rev. Fr. Vazken Atmajian was also present at the meeting.
The delegation also included member of the Homenetmen Regional
Executive and Scouting Council representative Mr. Pierre Manoukian and
scouting leader Ms. Taline Hindoyan.
Given that H.H. Catholicos Aram I has proclaimed 2009 as the Year of
the Youth, the Prelate and guests discussed opportunities for collaboration
between the scouts and the Prelacy youth committees.
