self-affirmation attempt

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Any statement or assessment made by the human rights
defender should base on legal facts, the Prosecutor General’s Office
said in a statement posted on its website.

`If he doesn’t produce facts, his behavior resembles personal
propaganda. The Ombudsman has no right to represent the Prosecutor
General’s Office as a repressive structure basing on complaints he
receives,’ the statement says.

Presenting his annual report yesterday, the Ombudsman said `he is
worried that citizens are subjected to tortures in prisons.’

`Accusations without facts prompt lack of professionalism. Such
behavior looks as a self-affirmation attempt,’ the Prosecutor
General’s Office said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
