ARMEN MARTIROSIAN ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF UN COMMISSION ON STATUS OF WOMEN

YEREVAN, MARCH 23, NOYAN TAPAN. The first sitting of the 54th session
of UN Commission on the Status of Women was held on March 23, during
which the election of Commission’s new Chairman and Bureau took place.
As Noyan Tapan was informed by the RA Foreign Ministry Press and
Information Department, Resident Representative of Armenia to UN,
Ambassador Armen Martirosian was elected Commission Chairman for
two years’ term. Roberto Storaci (Italy), Takashi Arshiki (Japan),
and Leysa Sou (Senegal) were elected Vice-Chairmen.
