TWO ARMENIAN WRESTLERS GAIN SILVER AND BRONZE MEDALS IN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

VILNIUS, APRIL 1, NOYAN TAPAN. In the final fight for gold medal
in the European Freestyle Wrestling Championship held in Vilnius
representative of Armenian national team, super heavyweight Ruslan
Basiyev (Yerevan) was defeated by Ali Isah (Azerbaijan), took the
second place and gained a silver medal. Another representative of
Armenia Zhirayr Hovhannisian (66 kg, Vanadzor) in the competition for
the third place defeated Roman Dermenja (Moldova) and won a bronze
medal. And Mihran Chabarian (Yerevan) performing in the 55 kg weight
category was defeated by Radoslav Velikov (Bulgaria) in the competition
for the third place and won no medal.

Artur Arakel (60 kg, Yerevan), Suren Markosian (70 kg, Garni), and
Edgar Yenokian (96 kg, Yerevan) will perform on April 1.

Representatives of 39 countries take part in the championship.
