ARMENIAN PRIME MINISTER: MISAPPROPRIATIONS GROWING IN COMMUNITY LAND PRIVATIZATION PROCEDURES

‘Misappropriations have become a norm in community land privatization
procedures’, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said at the
government session Thursday.
‘Personal interests and not state budget replenishment is the
object of initiating privatization procedure. This phenomenon is
not characteristic to some regions. This problem is acute across the
country. One can hardly name a community having no such problem. This
means that the privatization procedure must be toughened’, the premier
said. He came out for setting up a working group of the ministries of
territorial administration, economy, finance and other governmental
departments to draft necessary legislative amendments.
