IRANIAN INVESTMENT IN ARMENIA OF ‘STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE’: OFFICIAL

MOSCOW – Iranian investment in Armenian projects is of strategic
importance, the secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia
stated at a press conference in Yerevan on Monday.

IRNA news agency quoted Arthur Baghdasaryan as saying that Iran’s
share of investment in Armenian projects will reach $980 million.

The official pointed out the importance of the Iran-Armenia railway
and said the project makes the connection of Armenia to other central
Asian countries via Iran possible, adding, it would create great
job opportunities.

The 470-kilometer long Iran-Armenia railway, connecting the border
regions and creating the first rail link between the two countries,
is expected to boost trade relations
