RUSSIAN SENATORS APPROVED MILITARY-TECHNICAL COOPERATION AMONG CSTO MEMBER STATES

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ In its 246th plenary session held on April 29, 2009,
the RF Federation Council approved the laws on the "Ratification of the
Second Protocol Introducing Amendments to the Agreement on the Basic
Principles of Military Technical Cooperation among CSTO member states
(dated May 15, 1992), and the Second Protocol on the Procedures of
Exercising Control over the Goal-oriented Use of Military Products"
and the "Ratification on the Protocol Introducing Amendments to the
Agreement on the CSTO Legal Status" (dated October 7, 2002). The
law enforcement agencies and special services of non-state parties
will benefit from special subsidies in the delivery of military
products. That envisages ratification of the Second Protocol to the
Agreement on the Basic Principles of Military-Technical Cooperation
among CSTO Member States approved by the Federation Council in its
246th plenary session on April 29, 2009.

The amendments aim to enhance the mechanisms of military-technical
cooperation among state parties to the Agreement and does not
contradict the commitments undertaken by the Russian Federation,
the RF FC Press Service reports.
