Armenian leader, OSCE mediators discuss Karabakh talks

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met the co-chairmen of the OSCE
Minsk Group, Yuriy Merzlyakov [Russia], Bernard Fassier [France] and
Matthew Bryza [the USA], as well as the personal representative of the
OSCE chairman-in-office, Andrzej Kasprzyk, today. The meeting was also
attended by Armenian Foreign Minister Edvard Nalbandyan.

Issues concerning the current state of the negotiating process on the
peaceful solution to the Nagornyy Karabakh conflict and arrangements
for a possible forthcoming meeting between [Armenian President Serzh]
Sargsyan and [Azerbaijani President Ilham] Aliyev were discussed at
the meeting.

At the meeting, Sargsyan once again noted that Armenia sees settlement
of the Nagornyy Karabakh conflict only within the framework of the
OSCE Minsk Group, through peaceful negotiations and in line with
principles of international law.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
