AZERBAIJAN ADDRESSES ICRC TO ASSIST THE RELEASING OF ANAR HAJIYEV FROM THE ARMENIAN CAPTIVITY

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva, Rashad Suleymanov – APA. The State
Commission for Captives, Hostages and Missing People addressed
the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to assist the
releasing of Azerbaijani sergeant Anar Khanbaba Hajiyev captured by
the Armenian armed forces on May 10, the commission secretary Shahin
Sailov told APA.

He said the commission confirmed the fact of captivity and would take
all measures for his release.

Press service of the Azerbaijan Defense Ministry also confirmed the
fact of captivity of Sergeant Anar Hajiyev by the Armenian armed
forces. The conditions of captivity are not known. The ministry is
investigating the fact.

Anar Hajiyev, 19 was called up by the Goranboy District Military
Commissariat. He was captured by the Armenian armed forces at 9.45
on May 10, 2009.
